ITC's phygital AI ecosystem aids Indian farmers with crop disease detection
AI-powered 'Crop Doctor' diagnoses 70 crops, used 300,000 times to prevent losses.
ITC Ltd is advancing its integrated 'phygital' ecosystem called ITCMAARS to strengthen farm resilience and productivity. The platform's flagship feature, 'Crop Doctor', leverages AI and ML-based image analytics to detect plant diseases and pest infestations in real time. It covers 70 different crops and has been utilized 300,000 times, enabling farmers to take immediate corrective measures and prevent crop loss. Additionally, farmers can access personalized guidance from ITC's agri experts via toll-free lines in regional languages.
Complementing this is 'Krishi Mitra', an AI-powered agricultural co-pilot developed with Microsoft, available in eight Indian languages. It has resolved nearly 200,000 unique farmer queries within two years, helping farmers with informed selling decisions, subsidy access, precision farming, and weather preparedness. ITC's climate-smart agriculture program promotes regenerative practices across 31 lakh acres in 19 states, benefiting over 12 lakh farmers. This integrated approach aims to improve farmer livelihoods while building long-term agricultural resilience.
