FLUX.2-klein-9B distilled injected with some intelligence from FLUX.2-dev 64B.

A 3% injection from a massive model dramatically improves a tiny one's output.

Deep Dive

A developer merged 3% of the massive FLUX.2-dev 64B model into the distilled FLUX.2-klein-9B model, overcoming mismatched parameter shapes. After quantization to INT8, side-by-side tests with identical prompts and settings (CFG: 1.0, 10 steps) showed the merged 9B model consistently produced superior, more detailed images. The breakthrough suggests a new method for efficiently boosting small models' performance by strategically injecting intelligence from much larger counterparts.

Why It Matters

This technique could make high-quality AI image generation far more accessible and efficient on consumer hardware.
