Researcher's EmoTrack app helps users reflect on YouTube habits and mood
A new multi-platform app tracks YouTube activity and links it to emotional states, tested with 13 users.
Researcher Ruiyong Zhang developed EmoTrack, a personal informatics app that helps young people reflect on their YouTube video-watching behavior and its impact on their mood. The system, evaluated with 13 participants, successfully facilitated different levels of reflection (R0 to R3) by recording online activities to encourage more mindful engagement. It aims to help users develop strategies for positive online interaction while preserving benefits.
