Warehouse robots in tight aisles often have few safe places to wait, so researchers developed A-sharp, an adaptive method for choosing protected waiting locations at task-assignment time. It builds on the prior SHARP approach while preventing conflicts over shared waiting spots. In large-scale experiments across multiple warehouse maps, A-sharp completed every run and significantly improved final delivery time in 107 of 138 compared configurations, while never doing significantly worse than SHARP; on one tested tree map, median delivery time dropped by 16.7%.
