DORA: Dataflow Oriented Robotic Architecture

Researchers have introduced DORA (Dataflow Oriented Robotic Architecture), a new open-source robotic middleware designed to solve critical bottlenecks in data-intensive industrial applications. It addresses major limitations of current systems, including serialization overhead and poor support for heterogeneous data. DORA enables explicit data dependency specification and zero-copy data transmission. Extensive experiments in simulation and real-world environments show it achieves substantial reductions in latency and CPU overhead compared to state-of-the-art alternatives.
