Coupa launches AI agents and digital twins to cut supply chain planning by 90%
Coupa's new AI reduces 4-week supply chain analyses to just 4-6 hours.
Coupa unveiled a suite of AI-driven supply chain tools at Coupa Inspire 2026, including Coupa Compose and Coupa Catalyst, and announced the acquisition of intelligent document processing company Rossum. CEO Leagh Turner highlighted over 20 AI agents that integrate agentic AI—systems capable of automating operational decisions—with mathematical optimization for network design, warehouse capacity, and supplier constraints. According to GM Dean Bain, tasks that once took four to six weeks now require four to six hours. The platform also introduces digital twin technology, enabling real-time modeling of tariff impacts, port congestion, and geopolitical disruptions by ingesting live news and operational data.
In a breakout session, Sonepur USA shared results from Coupa's AI-optimized network redesigns: reducing its 26-foot box truck fleet from 68 to 43 vehicles, saving $3.4 million in lease costs, and boosting delivery performance to 95-96%. Additionally, Coupa partnered with Celonis to integrate process intelligence into its Navi AI agents, aiming to reduce value leakage and improve spend visibility. The combined capabilities allow enterprises to dynamically adjust sourcing and logistics in response to rapidly changing trade conditions.
- Coupa launched two new AI-native products (Compose and Catalyst) and acquired document AI startup Rossum.
- Its agentic AI and digital twin cut supply chain planning from weeks to hours, handling tariff and disruption scenarios in real time.
- Customer Sonepar saved $3.4M and improved delivery performance to 95%+ after AI-driven fleet and network redesign.
