Claude Code no longer listed as a feature for Claude Pro

Anthropic has quietly removed Claude Code from its $20/month Pro subscription tier, a move that effectively raises the price of access to its AI coding assistant. Previously available to Pro users, Claude Code now requires either the $100/month plan (offering 5× the usage limits) or the $200/month plan (with 20× limits). This change targets developers who rely on Claude Code for tasks like automated code generation, debugging, and refactoring, pushing them toward higher-cost tiers.

The decision underscores Anthropic's strategy to monetize its most popular features separately, similar to how OpenAI has tiered access for advanced models. For individual developers and small teams on the Pro plan, this represents a 5x to 10x cost increase for continued access. The move may accelerate adoption of competing tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor, which offer coding assistance at lower price points. Anthropic has not announced any grandfathering or discounts for existing Pro users.
