China's TP200 drone flies 24 hours non-stop, 3,000 km range

China has taken a significant step in civilian drone capabilities with the successful maiden flight of the TP200, a tonne-class long-distance UAV developed independently by Yitong UAV System. Reported by Science and Technology Daily, the TP200 is the first such civilian drone built to airworthiness standards in China. It boasts an impressive endurance of 24 hours at maximum payload, giving it a range of 3,000 km (1,860 miles). The drone can cruise at up to 200 km/h, reach a service ceiling of 7,600 meters (25,000 feet), and operate from unpaved runways with a takeoff/landing distance of only 300 meters. Its fuel‑powered design features two air intakes, a tail propeller, and twin vertical stabilizers.
The TP200's flexible, modular design makes it suitable for a wide variety of missions in any weather. These include maritime patrols, search and rescue near shore, coastline monitoring, island supply runs, and delivering emergency supplies to remote mountains. It can also be configured for drought monitoring, forest and grassland firefighting, land mapping, and ecological surveying. This versatility, combined with its long endurance and ability to operate from rough fields, positions the TP200 as a game-changer for civilian logistics and surveillance in China's vast and varied terrain.
