Traditionally, agents that need to call paid LLMs or APIs require developers to build custom wallet management, payment signing, and provider integrations—months of work. Ampersend's platform sits between agents and a marketplace of model providers, offering a single integration point. Powered by Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments and the x402 open protocol, it enables agents to programmatically pay for intelligence without human intervention.

The two-hop payment flow works as follows: An agent calls Ampersend, which publishes a catalog of models by capability tier. The agent picks a tier, receives an HTTP 402 payment request, then calls AgentCore Payments' ProcessPayment API. AgentCore signs the USDC authorization using the connected wallet's credentials (without exposing private keys) within a Payment Session capped at a budget (e.g., $0.05). Ampersend then settles with the upstream model provider via its SDK. This architecture provides secure, auditable, and governed transactions—eliminating per-provider subscriptions and billing complexity.
