Applications open for the Online wing of the AFFINE Superintelligence Alignment Seminar
Free, month-long remote program aims to train newcomers on mitigating AI existential risk.
The AFFINE Superintelligence Alignment Seminar, originally planned as an in-person event in Czechia, is expanding with a new online wing due to overwhelming demand. Organized by Mateusz Bagiński and Grace Roberts, this free, month-long program (running from April 28 to May 28) is now open for remote applicants worldwide. The seminar's core mission is to train promising newcomers on the critical challenges of AI alignment, specifically focusing on the existential risks posed by superintelligence. By providing greater access, the organizers hope to build a more globally informed cohort equipped to work on these long-term safety problems.
Online participants can expect a flexible schedule designed to accommodate different time zones, with an expected base commitment of 5-10 hours per week. The curriculum will include live-streamed key talks, recordings, and scheduled live discussions on Saturdays held in EA Gather Town. While the online experience will be less intensive than the in-person version—excluding elements like guided group projects—participants will still have access to a shared Discord space for connecting with mentors and other attendees. Applications for this unique, cost-free educational opportunity close on April 24.
