Anthropic's Claude Cowork goes mobile and web with cloud persistence
Now run AI tasks in the cloud even when your laptop is closed
Anthropic is expanding access to its Claude Cowork AI platform, launching on mobile (iOS and Android) and web for the first time starting Tuesday. The rollout begins with Max subscribers, with other Claude plans gaining access “in the coming weeks.” Previously, Cowork was limited to the desktop app on macOS and Windows, where the “full experience” — including local file access — remains. The mobile and web versions prioritize cloud-native functionality: Cowork sessions now run in the cloud by default, enabling users to seamlessly switch between devices or leave tasks running even after closing their laptop.<br><br>Crucially, this cloud persistence extends to scheduled tasks, which will execute even when no devices are online. Claude will send push notifications to your phone when a task is ready for review or approval. For power users, the desktop app still offers a local processing toggle. To celebrate the launch, Anthropic is doubling Cowork usage limits through August 5th. This update positions Claude Cowork as a persistent, cross-device AI assistant — a significant step beyond chat-based AI tools.
