Amazon Quick now supports key pair authentication to Snowflake data source
AWS's BI tool now uses RSA key pairs to connect securely to Snowflake, replacing vulnerable password logins.
Amazon has upgraded its Quick Sight BI tool to support key pair authentication for Snowflake data sources. This uses RSA 2048-bit asymmetric cryptography to replace traditional passwords. The move directly addresses Snowflake's planned deprecation of password-based logins. Users can now establish more secure, automated connections that meet enterprise compliance standards, reducing security vulnerabilities and operational friction in their data pipelines.
Why It Matters
Enables secure, automated BI reporting as cloud data warehouses mandate stronger authentication, critical for compliance and data governance.
