Alibaba’s New AI Beats Rivals at Thinking Tasks

Alibaba just launched its largest AI model ever, called Qwen3.8-Max. It has 2.4 trillion tiny parts (called parameters), which is like giving the AI a much bigger brain. In a test that checks how well AI can handle real-world tasks like answering questions or following instructions, this model scored 2% higher than a competitor called Fable 5. The test, called Terminal-Bench, is designed to see if AI can do things as well as a person might in an office job.

This isn’t just a flex for Alibaba. It’s a sign that AI is getting better at doing practical work. Other companies, like DeepSeek, recently made similar claims about their own AI models being great at complex tasks. But Alibaba’s model is now officially the best at this specific test.
