The flames broke out just before 3 a.m., sending thick smoke through the building. Nearly 80 residents were forced to flee their homes, some carrying pets in the panic. According to police, three people — aged 62 to 64 — felt ill from smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
